Penny Harkness - Mixed Media

I am an artist who has taught painting and drawing since 1981 at all major art institutions in NSW. Since graduating from the South Australian School of Arts in 1974 I have exhibited my work in many reputable galleries including Ray Hughes , Coventry and Gary Anderson Galleries. My work is represented in the Australian National Gallery in Canberra and various private collections.

In class I cover a wide range of genres- still life , portraiture and abstraction - equipping students (on all levels ) with some interesting and useful paint handling techniques in both oils and acrylics. In drawing we explore line and tone, light and shadow effects to describe contour, volume and atmosphere.

I aim to make every class vital and informative and also have some fun along the way! and imbue each student with a sense of history and worth during the creative process.
